Donations
HCC is supported entirely through generous donations and volunteer efforts. The Menezes family volunteers their time to administer the program in Canada (accounting, e-mails, newsletters etc.). They maintain weekly communication with the staff and children in Sandema. Once per year, a Menezes family member travels to Ghana to monitor the program and ensure that activities are running smoothly.
With the exception of one plane ticket every three years and the nominal cost of mailing out our annual newsletters, all money received goes directly to Ghana. Staff in Ghana receive salaries according to local wage scales.
- If you would like to contribute by credit card via the non-profit Canada Helps website, please continue here.
- To give through the United Way, you can designate your donation to the Stanley Francis Foundation on your contribution form. Be sure to include our Registered Charity # 86964 7347 RR0001. Receipts are issued by the United Way.
- If you would like to contribute by cheque, please make it payable to Stanley Francis Foundation and write "Horizons Children's Centre" on the memo line. The Foundation remits 100% of the donation to HCC and issues tax receipts for all donations over $20. Cheques should be mailed to:
